Short Description

The Indonesia Study Programme has been taking place for a few years in Jakarta and Yogyakarta. This year the Indonesian Study Programme has been reorganized by Prof. A Min Tjoa - who himself grew up in Indonesia - in cooperation with ASEA-UNINET and our partner institution Gadjah Mada University (UGM) in Yogyakarta, which is one of the oldest and largest Universities in Indonesia, with a worldwide reputation.

The Indonesian Study Programme follows a modular structure, where each module will focus on a different aspect of the country. According to the topic some of the modules will take place in Yogyakarta, while others will be held out of town in the countryside. You will learn about a broad range of topics such as sustainable development, the role of Islam, business and economics, local culture and traditions, politics etc., with regard to Indonesia and the wider ASEAN region.

Each module consists of lectures, field trips and cultural activities, where you will actively take part in various projects, together with Indonesian students. Besides prominent lecturers, and Government officials including the Ambassador and trade delegate of Austria, you will have the chance to meet many interesting and fascinating people of various background and affiliation, giving you hands-on experience and providing you with a unique insight into the country and the mentality of people in Indonesia as a major part of South-East Asia.
